CV: Mario Rinke (*1979) is specialized in early reinforced concrete and early industrial timber (glulam) focussing on the transformation processes of structural materials and structural thinking. He is now senior researcher at the architecture department at ETH Zurich where he is also a lecturer since 2011 as he is at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts since 2009. After his studies in structural engineering at the Bauhaus University Weimar, he was with Ramboll Whitbybird as a structural design engineer in London. From 2008 he was scientific assistent at the chair of structural design at the ETH Zurich and finished his PhD on the development of trusses in the 18th and 19th century in 2013. 2014-2015 he was a structural engineering at Dr. Lüchinger + Meyer Bauingenieure AG, Zurich. Mario is a founding member of the International Association of Structures and Architecture (IASA) and currently secretary the management board. He is member of the scientific committee of the International Conference on Structures and Architecture (2013, 2016, 2019) and Peer Reviewer of several journals.
