CV: Rika Devos is associate professor at the BATir Department (Building, Architecture and Town Planning), Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), where she teaches post-war history of construction and architecture, theory of architecture and design studio. Trained as an engineer architect, she obtained her Ph.D in 2008 with a dissertation entitled "Modern at Expo 58. Discussions on post-war representation" (Ghent University). Rika Devos’s research focuses on exhibition architecture, as well as on the history of modern architecture and construction. She is co-editor of "Architecture of Great Exhibitions 1937-1959. Messages of Peace, Images of War", a volume of collected essays on modern architecture at European world’s fairs published with Ashgate (2015). Together with profs. Bernard Espion and Michel Provost, she is finishing a book on the Brussels contractor Blaton (2017), a leading firm in concrete construction in interwar Belgium. Prof. Devos is founding member of the joint research group (ULB-VUB) Construction Histories Brussels.
